I needed to tell you what an amazing experience last night was. This show was something different
and new and put a positive spin on cancer. So often I feel that with cancer awareness it is all about
remembering the loss. This celebrated the survival. This showed people, that even with aggressive
and rare cancers, we can still win. Cancer isn’t the end of the world. It’s the beginning of a new more
aware life. The treatment is horrific, the surgeries scary, the impending doom crushing. But it also
brings forth stronger things.

No one tells me what to do. No one tells me how to live my life, and no one is going to tell me when
my expired date is. That’s God’s job, not any one here on earth. This show was so amazing and
important for me. One, was because being up on a runway and before the camera has always been
a dream of mine. Ever since I was 17 and did my senior pictures, I got bit by a bug. (I was terribly
OCD in my teen years) Then as surgeries have destroyed my body’s ability to reshape itself, I tossed
that dream away. But you gave me that one moment to enjoy it for fun and safely. Your Agency is one
of a kind!

This one event has made me realize so much about myself, my family and those around me. It’s given
me a whole new awareness. Thank you for that, all of you.
The show was amazing and we all enjoyed it immensely. Everyone made it relaxing and fun. I also
think everyone i talked to wanted to look up Baby Cakes Unique Boutique for their own outfit! I know
it’s going on my Christmas wish list!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart and my family’s heart. My mother and I wondered what inspired
Sherly to do this, her own struggle, her own loss? But you answered that for us. God laid it on your heart
and He made the way. You are a witness for Him and His love shines through yours. You truly blessed me.
I can’t thank you enough, and thanks for all the hugs!

God Bless all of you!! See you next year for certain

Special people like you who care for others with so much warmth and kindness make such a wonderful
difference in the lives of so many people. That was apparent to all of us cancer survivors. You worked
very hard behind the scenes orchestrating all the details that went into putting on the cancer survival
fashion show at the Lexington Hotel September 12, 2010. It was truly a day of celebration for all of us!

You, as well as the hair and make-up artists, made me feel very special and pampered that day. Your
generous spirit in all that you did for us, arranging the Royal Ballroom at the Lexington Hotel with comfort
food, the clothing for the fashion show, MC, Sheri Jones from WLNS, the memory booklet, CD, group picture
silent auction, door prizes, and our gift bag, all touched our hearts. It was a giant undertaking that you and
your assistants successfully handled with grace for us and for the donation to American Cancer Society.

I look forward to your next Cancer Survivor fashion show (no pressure intended) May your kindness
return to you in the same beautiful way it was offered to us. Thank you very much.

May the Lord bless you all and keep you all strong,

Paula Bjornstad

I just wanted to thank you and commend you on a job well done. God gave you a vision and you are
making it happen. I thank God for you.

You allowed me to be a part of one of the most amazing celebrations I felt like a queen in the spotlight
as one of the models for this special occasion. I also would like to thank everyone who helped to make the
2 Annual “Celebrating Survival” cancer survivor fashion show a success. And the designers your clothes
were outstanding. Thank you, thank you God Bless

Hello LEMATA, it was such an uplifting evening. I haven’t felt that beautiful since my wedding day! I thank you
so much for the opportunity to model at your wonderful show and I would LOVE to do it every year as a

I wanted to thank you for giving Jacalyn a chance to walk the runway and feel like a star. She had a blast last
night. I spoke with one of the girls about purchasing her runway outfits, and she was going to look into seeing
if TJ Maxx…. could hold them for us, fingers crossed that will work because Jacalyn loved the outfits. She also had
the chance to meet (again) Olivia. They have a lot in common and became fast friends last night and have play date
set up. What your doing is amazing and so important. I left feeling inspired. The guest you had to talk were great
and the music was amazing! At any rate, thank you for allowing Jacalyn to participate. You made a dream of hers
come true.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to be in the fashion show last Sunday. What an amazing
experience and the chance to get to meet so many incredible people.

Thank you, again for allowing me to be a part of this incredible group. During the practice session, when
I heard some of those stories, tears kept coming to my eyes.

Love and hugs,

I wanted to thank you for the wonderful time I had participating in the Models for the Cure fashion show on
Sunday. It was an amazing day and I loved meeting the other survivors.

May God bless you all for the hard work and effort you put into this endeavor!

Much love

Dear LEMATA Board,

My name is Patricia Prince and I am the grandmother of Javonte’ Brown, one of the models in the fashion show.
I would like to let you know how impressed I was with the fashion show. I was very happy that my grandson stepped
out of his comfort level by modeling It was wonderful!

The fashion show was very impressive and classy because of the reason for the show (cancer survivors) the
professionalism, the different fashion designers, the location, and the diverse group of models. Also nice surprise
to have Evan Pennenault and Dee Freman as announcers. Also a special thank you to Sherly Ellis and board members for their ideas
and motivation to doing something so special. God bless you All!

Bless you

Patricia Prince

Hello LEMATA- I am so incredibly impressed with you all! That event yesterday was absolutely awesome. I had no
idea that you were the founder and director of LEMATA. Very, very well done! Sarah loved being in the show
and being pampered. All I can say is WOW! what a show-I can’t stop talking about it. I am so thoroughly
impressed with the elegance of “Model for the Cure event.” All I can say is i did leave the event with a smile
on my face and warmth in my heart as I remembered my mother!

Bright blessings today and days to come. There were bright blessing last night on every one of the model;
they certainly did shine!

Love you all,

Thank you so much for allowing me to be in the fashion show. The experience was great. I so much enjoyed meeting the others in our group of models. We had a good time bonding. My wife was probably a bit prejudiced, but she said the first group and I our (3) did the best modeling. It was a surprise to also get the clothing to keep. I can imagine the work you and your group put into the planning and execution of the program. I know those in the show were uplifted and made many new and hopefully long lasting friendships. You all are a blessing to many!
